Position Overview
Join Vancouver Coastal Health as a Geriatric Outreach Nursing Specialist
Vancouver Coastal Health is in search of a dedicated Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse to become part of the North Shore Mental Health Geriatric team. This role is centered on assisting older adults who are facing challenges such as dementia, significant psychiatric conditions, concurrent disorders, and issues related to aging. Be a vital part of our mission to enhance the lives of our community members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychogeriatric evaluations and provide crisis intervention
- Facilitate treatment planning and offer consultation services
- Work collaboratively with general practitioners, caregivers, and family members
- Build trusting relationships with clients and deliver educational initiatives
- Serve as a clinical resource for fellow healthcare professionals
- May engage in direct care and outreach activities
Required Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Active registration as a Registered Nurse or Psychiatric Nurse
- A minimum of three years of relevant experience in geriatric mental health
- Possession of a valid Driver's License and access to a vehicle
