**Position Overview: Crew Supervisor - Shipping/Receiving**
We are seeking a Crew Supervisor for our Shipping and Receiving team. This role is pivotal in leading a shift team within the McCormick High Performance System (MHPS) framework. The Crew Supervisor is responsible for the overall performance of a team managing multiple lines, focusing on safety, quality, process reliability, sanitation, and material yield. This position actively promotes continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Lead by example, ensuring adherence to Health and Safety and Human Resources policies.
- Utilize the McCormick High Performance System (MHPS) to engage team members and foster collaboration.
- Plan, direct, and support daily activities to meet business goals and initiatives, ensuring team members are adequately trained.
- Oversee Tier 1 HPO activities, maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Identify and remove barriers to team performance, demonstrating urgency and ownership in problem resolution.
- Facilitate daily team huddles and weekly meetings, maintaining effective communication with management.
- Ensure key performance indicators are consistently met.
- Standardize operational procedures and best practices across the team.
- Address daily issues and coordinate maintenance needs with the appropriate team members.
- Provide input for team evaluations and development plans, managing team dynamics effectively.
- Ensure immediate reporting of any employee injuries and complete necessary documentation.
- Conduct on-the-job training for new and existing employees, enhancing technical and business competencies.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support overall plant objectives.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including root cause analysis.
- Occasionally handle administrative tasks in the absence of management.
- Be available for overtime as needed.
**Qualifications Required:**
- Minimum of three years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, or equivalent education.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with packaging and processing equipment.
- Successful completion of Mechanical Aptitude testing.
- Valid driver's license.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field is advantageous.
- Ability to assess the financial implications of staffing and inventory decisions.
- Proven leadership skills, with formal training considered an asset.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- Knowledge of packaging and processing equipment, including PM, AM, and TPM processes.
- Familiarity with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning tools.
- Demonstrated ability to operate all necessary equipment, including forklifts.
