Child and Youth Mental Health Clinician Position

The BC Public Service Agency is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Child and Youth Mental Health Clinician to join our team. As a key member of our Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) team, you will work closely with a diverse group of clinicians, school staff, primary care providers, caregivers, and community partners to provide high-quality care to children and youth.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop treatment plans to address the mental health needs of children and youth.
- Provide individual and group therapy sessions to children and youth, as well as support and guidance to caregivers.
- Collaborate with community partners to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to care.
- Document and maintain accurate records of client interactions and progress.
- Participate in ongoing learning and professional development opportunities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
- Masters in Social Work, Educational Counselling, Clinical Psychology, or Child and Youth Care, or equivalent graduate degree at the Master's level.
- Minimum of one year full-time equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community-based mental health services.
- Valid class 5 BC Driver's license with no restriction or equivalent.
- Preference may be given to applicants with experience working with parents/caregivers and children 6 years of age or under, as well as those with training in infant/child development and clinical experience working with infants and young children.
