Senior Software Developer, RDS Aurora PostgreSQL

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer to join our Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL Engine team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing large-scale database systems that run across thousands of servers worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop significant system software components critical to our industry-leading database services.
  • Architect, design, and implement highly scalable distributed database systems that provide availability, reliability, and performance guarantees.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of database systems.
  • Mentor and guide junior developers to ensure knowledge sharing and skill development.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems experience.
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
