Join Our Dynamic Team as an Intermediate Electrical Engineer

WSP's Buildings team is at the forefront of designing innovative commercial, institutional, recreational, and residential structures. We are currently looking for an Intermediate Electrical Engineer to become a vital part of our Buildings Business Unit.

This role primarily involves working on retrofit projects within existing buildings, accounting for approximately 80% of our workload. You will leverage your expertise in electrical power distribution, fire alarm systems, emergency power supply, EV charging solutions, and lighting system design across various sectors including commercial, institutional, residential, and industrial.

As the demand for decarbonization rises, the retrofit market is poised for significant growth in the coming years, presenting an exciting opportunity for skilled mid-level professionals.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Conduct electrical design, calculations, and prepare specifications for power distribution, control, communication, lighting, fire alarm, security systems, and emergency power.
  • Create detailed AutoCAD drawings and 3D models using Revit for all electrical system designs.
  • Ensure compliance with Electrical Engineering standards, Ontario Building Code (OBC), Electrical Safety Authority, and IEEE standards for building and site design.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team of 15 technical staff members under the guidance of Senior Engineers.
Your Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Licensed with PEO.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Familiarity with engineering study software such as arc flash, load, fault, and coordination studies, as well as lighting and grounding is advantageous.
  • Possess reliable transportation and the ability to travel to project sites as necessary.
