We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Modeling Supervisor to lead our 3D modeling team at Industrial Light & Magic. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the creation of complex 3D models, ensuring they meet the technical and aesthetic requirements of our productions.
Key Responsibilities:- Craft and supervise the creation of high-quality 3D models, including characters, environments, vehicles, and props.
- Work closely with VFX, Texture, and Look Dev Supervisors to establish the visual style and technical requirements for each project.
- Participate in turnover meetings, asset breakdowns, reviews, and bidding/re-bidding to ensure smooth project execution.
- Attend production and team meetings to promote effective communication and collaboration.
- Brief, review, and approve Third Party Partner model work.
- Assign work to modelers based on their skills and strengths, and provide guidance and feedback to ensure high-quality results.
- Collaborate with the Head of Department to develop and implement strategies for team growth, professional development, and morale.
- Participate in the recruiting and staffing process, assessing candidate work and providing input on hiring decisions.
- 10+ years of experience in 3D modeling and leadership roles at a large-scale VFX facility.
- Expert knowledge of Maya and Zbrush, with a strong understanding of facial blend shapes and pipeline knowledge.
- Strong design sense for mechanics, vehicles, and architecture, with a creative and critical eye for guiding form and anatomy.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and individuals.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new information, with a strong problem-solving mindset.
Industrial Light & Magic is an equal opportunity employer, and we offer a competitive salary range of C$137,300 to C$175,800 per year, based on a 40-hour work week. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, financial, and other variable pay or benefits.
