Job Title: Underwriter, Commercial Insurance

We are seeking an experienced Underwriter, Commercial Insurance to join our team at Alberta Ltd.

Job Summary:

The Underwriter, Commercial Insurance will be responsible for reviewing and evaluating insurance applications, determining insurance risks, and approving the sale of insurance policies. The successful candidate will have excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review individual and group applications for insurance, evaluating risks and determining insurance premiums
  • Evaluate new and renewal applications to determine insurance risks, insurance premiums, extent of coverage, and other conditions
  • Approve the sale of insurance policies, ensuring compliance with government regulations
  • Provide underwriting advice to clients and other company personnel
  • Prepare underwriting reports, highlighting key findings and recommendations
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as business or finance
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in commercial underwriting, or equivalent experience
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work under pressure, with tight deadlines and a large caseload
