Laboratory and Radiology Technologist I

As a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist I, you will engage in essential procedures within both laboratory settings and diagnostic imaging, primarily in rural healthcare environments. You will collaborate with an inter-professional team, taking responsibility for the collection and analysis of biological specimens, conducting X-ray examinations, performing ECGs, and reporting findings.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare patients for various procedures, including venipuncture and micropuncture.
- Conduct routine maintenance on equipment and ensure adequate supply levels.
- Implement quality control measures as required.
- Accurately enter, review, and report patient results in a timely manner.
- Assess unusual test results and follow established protocols for further action.
- Provide radiation protection to patients and adhere to safety principles.
- Participate in the training of new staff and students.
Candidates must possess a diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology (CLXT). Registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologists (ACCLXT) is either required or must be pursued.
Additional Qualifications:The role demands flexibility to work various shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends, with the ability to respond to on-call duties promptly. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the capability to work effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
