We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team at La Crete Health Centre. As a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist I, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Perform laboratory and diagnostic imaging procedures, including collecting and analyzing biological specimens, conducting X-ray examinations, and reporting results.
- Work collaboratively with the inter-professional team to ensure seamless patient care and efficient workflow.
- Prepare patients for procedures, perform venipuncture and micropuncture, and maintain routine equipment.
- Conduct quality control procedures and maintain accurate records.
- Investigate and document quality control problems and follow up with senior staff and pathologists.
- Provide patient, public, and staff radiation protection and follow ALARA principles.
- Participate in training new staff and students and demonstrate interest in professional growth and competency maintenance.
- Completion of a diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology (CLXT).
- Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologists (ACCLXT).
- Ability to work various shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and take call by responding within 30 minutes.
- High level of organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well with patients and all members of the healthcare team.
