What is the Opportunity?

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Risk Analyst Student. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the financial markets, working closely with our data analysts and financial engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and Validate Market Data
    • Assess and validate market data from vendors for accuracy and completeness
    • Identify any anomalies or discrepancies
  • Data Cleaning and Analysis
    • Apply data cleansing techniques to remove errors and standardize data formats
    • Analyze cleaned data to derive key metrics and trends
  • Documentation and Collaboration
    • Maintain clear and organized documentation of processes and methodologies
    • Collaborate with senior analysts and other departments to ensure accurate and timely delivery of market data

Requirements

  • Education
    • Currently enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution with a focus on quantitative finance, risk management, data science, computer science, mathematics, or statistics
  • Skills
    • Ability to extract and transform data, perform complex data analysis, and present findings to stakeholders
    • Strong programming skills in one or more languages (Python, R)
    • Experience or understanding of querying databases (SQL), data visualization tools
    • Good command of Excel, VBA programming
    • Highly developed written and oral communication skills
    • Excellent team player with strong interpersonal skills
