About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team. The successful candidate will possess expertise in neurology, mental health, and/or musculoskeletal (MSK) rehabilitation. You will work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team, primarily focusing on these specialty programs while also supporting other clinical areas as needed.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical skills and experience treating both acute and chronic conditions. Experience with work-related injuries, chronic pain management, activity-based rehabilitation, work simulation, and return-to-work planning is highly desirable. A holistic approach incorporating both physical and psychosocial interventions is essential.
You will be working closely with a multidisciplinary team comprising Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Kinesiologists, OTA/PTA, Psychotherapists, as well as Physician and Psychologist consultants. Excellent communication, teamwork, and service excellence skills are crucial for success in this role.
Qualifications
- University Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program recognized by the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
- Certificate of Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
- Minimum two years of relevant experience treating clients/patients with work-related injuries, motor vehicle accidents (MVA), or experience within the third-party healthcare system is preferred
- Experience working with mental health programs is an asset
- Return to work planning skills are highly valued
- Exceptional interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in written, oral, and nonverbal communication
- Ability to conduct group education sessions and lead small group learning activities
