Job Opportunity:

Aecon, a leading infrastructure and transportation network developer, is seeking a skilled MEP Engineer to join our team. As a MEP Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Track and coordinate design packages for submission to clients, collaborating with document controllers to ensure timely delivery.
  • Communicate delays in the design schedule proactively and find solutions to mitigate, keeping track of all delays and associated claims with design consultants.
  • Coordinate with clients' document control teams on design package submission and comments receipt delays.
  • Facilitate design review comments between construction and performance teams (CRM process) to designers, ensuring closeout of comments in design packages.
  • Coordinate constructability and gate reviews, as well as quantity variance in design from bid estimates to relevant designers.
  • Collect information on a weekly and monthly basis for updating progress reports.
  • Coordinate suppliers' information with design teams and ensure delivery to clients.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams for procurement of subcontractors for design input requirements.
  • Coordinate design quality aspects with teams and assist in preparing for design quality audits with QA/QC.
  • Coordinate Conformance Review Report (CRR) inputs with design leads.
  • Collaborate with Lessons Learnt Coordinators for learning moments gathered from past projects, optimizing design coordination internally and externally.
  • Enhance delivery process of all packages to clients.
  • Respond effectively to designers' enquiries/requests to support the design process.
  • Assist design teams to proceed on time as planned.
  • Develop optimized solutions and reduce scopes for cost minimization.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in reviewing and handling MEP designs.
  • Minimum educational experience: Electrical engineering degree.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage budgets.
  • Computer literate with MS Office (Word, Excel, Project).
  • Bilingual French/English required.
  • Able to lead discussions with partners, clients, and suppliers, and interact with senior discipline staff as overall delivery lead.
  • Experience with managing vendor relationships, estimation, analyzing information, and reporting is essential.
  • Demonstrated strong team work ethics and decision-making skills.
  • Able to perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prolonged sedentary positioning.
  • Moderate physical activities.
