The Office of the Registrar at U of T Mississauga plays a crucial role in supporting the academic mission of the university through effective registrarial services. As a key member of our team, the Student Recruitment Officer will report to the Assistant Director of Student Recruitment. This role is pivotal in driving local and national recruitment initiatives, collaborating with colleagues to develop and execute strategies that align with the university's enrollment goals. The Officer will actively promote U of T Mississauga within secondary schools, colleges, and the broader community to attract qualified candidates.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Building and maintaining a network of external contacts to enhance recruitment strategies.
  • Identifying suitable schools for visits based on market analysis and feedback.
  • Delivering engaging presentations to prospective students and stakeholders.
  • Representing the university at recruitment events and promoting academic programs.
  • Providing guidance to potential applicants and their families regarding admissions processes.
  • Conducting evaluations of recruitment events and suggesting improvements.
  • Preparing comprehensive reports based on collected data.
  • Establishing positive relationships with prospective students and their families.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of four years of experience in a higher education environment.
  • Familiarity with student recruitment processes and university admission standards.
  • Proven experience in public speaking and event coordination.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Knowledge of high school curricula and university admission requirements.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
