In your role as a Tax Manager, you will assist clients with corporate tax strategies to maximize their tax benefits. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Providing guidance and support to a team of tax professionals on compliance matters, encouraging them to understand clients' perspectives through discussions on tax planning strategies.
  2. Building strong, trusting relationships with clients while advising them on intricate tax issues.
  3. Consulting with clients on reorganizations, rollovers, windups, estate planning, and managing T1, T2, and T3 returns.
  4. Proactively addressing tax-related challenges in collaboration with clients and team members.
  5. Leading the development of our expanding tax practice by identifying and nurturing new service opportunities.

A typical day...
You might engage with the CFO of a significant manufacturing client, while collaborating with Lynne, the Tax Partner, who will stimulate your thought process as you identify challenges and devise tax solutions. You will also provide feedback to your team members, ensuring they have the necessary resources to complete their tasks effectively. Later, you may receive an inquiry from a client regarding the transition of her family business.

Do you possess the qualifications to excel as a Tax Manager? Here are some essential criteria:

  1. You are currently enrolled in or have completed the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course, or hold a Master's degree in Taxation.
  2. You have successfully developed and presented innovative ideas and tax solutions for clients, demonstrating your commitment to exceptional service.
  3. You possess substantial experience in both corporate and personal Canadian tax compliance.
  4. You have contributed to the mentoring and development of others in the field.

What we offer:
At Grant Thornton, we prioritize fair, equitable, and competitive compensation practices. Our current base salary range for this position is between $90,000 and $120,000.
