About the Role

MNP is a leading national accounting, tax, and business advisory firm in Canada. We're seeking a skilled Senior Accountant to join our Tax team, where you'll play a key role in delivering customized tax strategies to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compute taxes owed, prepare personal and corporate tax returns, and year-end tax forms (T4s/T5s)
  • Set up files for new clients and newly incorporated businesses
  • Evaluate business processes and policies, and advise on policy and tax changes
  • Identify issues and errors, investigate discrepancies, and discuss with managers or engagement partners
  • Correspond with clients and government agencies to address tax compliance issues
  • Prepare correspondence, technical reports, and client summaries outlining engagement findings
  • Collaborate with client engagement teams, lead engagement teams, and mentor junior team members
  • Contribute to business development initiatives and identify new business opportunities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in commerce or business administration (accounting or finance major preferred)
  • CPA designation
  • Currently enrolled in the In-Depth Tax program
  • 2-4 years of relevant public accounting or tax experience
  • Working knowledge of the Canadian Income Tax Act
  • Experience working with accounting and tax software
