Position Available: One (1)

Status: Full-Time Temporary 8-Month Contract (37.5 hours per week)

Salary Range: $60,013-$66,244 annually

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervising the evaluation and enrollment of youth, particularly those from vulnerable and marginalized backgrounds, including youth in care, Indigenous youth, and youth identifying as part of the 2SLGBTQ+ community, with the goal of establishing and sustaining impactful mentoring relationships.
  • Managing all aspects of engaging, enrolling, assessing, training, matching, and providing ongoing support for various community-based mentoring initiatives, particularly those aimed at assisting vulnerable youth.
  • Ensuring the team effectively engages, enrolls, and matches youth in mentoring programs through safe assessment methods that achieve positive outcomes.
  • Supporting youth awaiting a match by offering them a standard of service through alternative agency programs and opportunities.
  • Collaborating with volunteer engagement and recruitment teams to develop strategies for recruiting and retaining volunteers to best support mentoring matches.
  • Overseeing pre-match training for families and youth involved in Community-Based Programs.
  • Guiding the team in their support of mentoring matches, providing opportunities for debriefing and problem-solving regarding issues and needs.
  • Offering leadership, supervision, and performance management to direct reports.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with agency partners to understand and address the needs of youth from vulnerable backgrounds and identify community trends.
Qualifications:
  • Degree or Diploma in Youth Development, Social Work, Indigenous Studies, or a related Human Services field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience, with a background in youth programming, case management, volunteer management, and partnership development.
  • In-depth knowledge of working with vulnerable youth, youth in care, and/or Indigenous youth is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of engaging children, youth, and families through assessment, screening, and training processes.
  • Experience in supervising and supporting staff and volunteers, with the ability to facilitate, lead, and motivate others, including evaluating direct reports.
  • Demonstrated approachability, understanding, organization, and efficiency, coupled with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Awareness of emerging issues affecting children and families, along with knowledge of community resources available to families.
  • Proven ability to deliver quality outcome-based programs, services, and opportunities for children and families. Proficient in data entry into electronic systems and familiar with MS programs, particularly SharePoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Valid Driver's license and access to a vehicle.
