Position Overview:
As an Audit Specialist at Canadian Pacific Railway, you will be integral in executing independent internal audits throughout the organization. Your role will encompass risk evaluation, audit methodologies, root cause examination, and the creation of audit documentation. You will also improve audit scope through data analysis and work closely with management to implement suggested improvements. Furthermore, you will participate in quality assurance initiatives and aid in the formulation of audit strategies and reporting. This position offers an excellent opportunity to enhance your expertise and significantly influence risk management at Canadian Pacific Railway.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute internal audits in accordance with IIA Standards, including risk evaluation and audit documentation preparation.
- Leverage data analysis to broaden audit scope and deliver insights to management.
- Effectively communicate audit findings and recommendations to management.
- Support quality assurance initiatives and annual audit strategy development.
- Acquire knowledge of Canadian Pacific Railway's processes and technologies.
- Efficiently manage multiple projects and collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Enhance internal audit methodologies and contribute to advisory initiatives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related discipline.
- Professional certification such as CPA, CIA, CFE, or equivalent experience.
- 2-3 years of experience in auditing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficient in computer applications relevant to project management.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Capacity to work autonomously and adhere to deadlines with meticulous attention to detail.
- Knowledge of the Spanish language and experience with SOX control testing are advantageous.
