Senior Estimator Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our team at TalentSphere Staffing Solutions. As a Senior Estimator, you will play a critical role in leading estimates on complex projects, working closely with our clients and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead estimates on multi-project or single large and complex projects for residential, commercial, office, and hospitality buildings.
  • Interact with and support chief estimator, pre-construction director, project directors, project managers, and coordinators.
  • Work closely with external stakeholders, including clients, consultants, and trade contractors, and internal stakeholders, such as development staff.
  • Present estimates to senior management and external clients.
  • Provide expert guidance to junior estimators and project managers.
  • Perform complex quantity takeoffs to company and industry standards and supervise the work of others.
  • Solicit sub-trade and supplier pricing quotes and administer sub-trade databases.
  • Assist in preparing drawing reviews, including coordinating RFI's from sub-trades to consultants.
  • Take ownership of estimates with minor supervision, preparing direct and indirect costs.
  • Stay up-to-date on current market rates for building materials and labor, providing input to the team on construction cost matters.
  • Incorporate requirements from drawings and specifications into estimates and assess potential risk items.
  • Review and develop construction schedules and ensure alignment with estimates.
  • Review construction methodology and ensure alignment with estimates.
  • Review and analyze quotes, providing data to support trade selection.
  • Lead value engineering processes.
  • Strong computer background, including experience with MS Office, On-Screen Takeoff, and Bluebeam.
  • Ability to think creatively and critically about problems and generate new ideas for improvement.
Requirements:
  • 7+ years of estimating experience, including residential and commercial market experience.
  • General contractor and/or trade contractor experience is preferred.
  • College diploma or university degree in construction management, civil engineering, or quantity surveying.
  • Experience in both concrete and wood frame construction is preferred but not necessary.
  • Strong network of business relationships with trade contractors in the local Vancouver area.
  • Ability to multitask in an organized fashion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive attitude and strong desire to take on new challenges and responsibilities.
Remuneration:
  • $120,000 - $150,000+ base pay.
  • Performance-based bonus programs.
