Your Role

We are in search of Project Managers eager to advance their expertise in the municipal and developmental infrastructure services sector within our Northern Canada Business Unit.

You possess prior experience in overseeing projects of varying scope and complexity, particularly in the delivery of municipal infrastructure initiatives such as water supply/distribution, storm/wastewater management, road construction, bridge development, and enhancements to existing facilities or new construction across various building types. You have established yourself as a trusted advisor to clients, cultivating strong, enduring relationships with senior leaders and decision-makers.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership:

  • Exemplify company values and cultural principles
  • Guide the development of Assistant Project Managers on your projects
  • Delegate responsibilities and empower Assistant Project Managers
  • Establish a personal brand

Growth:

  • Enhance sales within existing accounts
  • Identify opportunities for cross-selling within managed accounts

Management:

  • Oversee project delivery teams to ensure quality standards are met
  • Manage the implementation of the work breakdown structure
  • Escalate project delivery and financial issues to the Project Lead

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure all project work is executed in compliance with our Quality Management System
  • Maintain Client Satisfaction
Qualifications
  • A university degree or diploma in civil engineering or a related technical field (or an equivalent combination of academic and practical experience)
  • A minimum of 5 years of project management experience, representing owners in the execution of linear infrastructure (water supply/storage/distribution, storm/wastewater), roads, bridges, and building development (fit-up, major renovations, new construction) or similar infrastructure projects
  • Experience in delivering projects for municipalities or in Northern climates is advantageous
  • In-depth understanding of the engineering design process, value engineering, and necessary approvals for construction and project closeout in a municipal or public sector context
  • Proven capability to lead projects and teams in delivering infrastructure
  • Strong grasp of best practice Project Management methodologies and procedures within a PMO environment
  • Effective client and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence others and resolve a variety of client and technical issues
  • Experience managing multiple relationships with external stakeholders, including community organizations, special interest groups, and funding agencies is a plus
  • Detail-oriented leader with the ability to thrive in a process-driven environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient in computer applications, including scheduling (MS Project), word processing (MS Word), and spreadsheet (Excel) software
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to Northern Canada as required by specific project needs
  • PMP designation is a valuable asset
