Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Environmental Project Manager to join our team at SLR Consulting (Canada). As a key member of our Land Quality and Remediation team in Winnipeg, you will play a critical role in the delivery of high-quality environmental and sustainability services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Take on full project management responsibilities for a variety of programs related to the assessment, monitoring, management, and remediation of contaminated sites.
  • Client Management: Communicate directly with clients to maintain the highest levels of customer satisfaction and build long-term relationships.
  • Team Leadership: Assist in mentoring junior and intermediate staff in project management/fieldwork/task management skills while being mentored by more senior professionals.
  • Health and Safety: Provide leadership in Health and Safety through open and positive communications with all staff.
  • Fieldwork: Conduct field (data collection) programs involving sampling and monitoring of soil, groundwater, surface water, soil vapour and remediation system operation and maintenance.
  • Reporting: Prepare remediation options analyses, remedial action plans and associated design works, review and analyze data, design assessment and remediation programs, and prepare technical reports.
  • Financial Management: Plan, report and track schedules and budgets, all as part of project financial management.

Requirements

  • Education: Minimum of a degree or a technical diploma in environmental science, engineering, geology, hydrogeology, or environmental related studies.
  • Experience: Ideally 10+ years of experience in contaminated site work including managing and leading environmental site assessments (Phase I, II, and III ESAs), soil and groundwater sampling, and remediation programs.
  • Skills: Experience working in the energy sector is a significant asset. Knowledge and practical application of health & safety requirements unique to oil and gas facilities, construction sites, subsurface investigations, and contaminated sites.
  • Professional Status: Professional status or eligibility for professional status with a professional organization preferred.
  • Driver's License: Valid driver's license and regular access to a reliable vehicle required for occasional travel to job sites/client facilities.
