We are seeking a Family Practitioner to join our team at the Alouette Correctional Centre. As a Family Practitioner, you will work alongside other healthcare experts to provide quality care for clients and help them live an active life during their time in custody and as they reintegrate into the community.

Job Summary:

This is a part-time opportunity that will allow you to build your professional practice portfolio in the area of mental health and addictions, without the overhead/start-up costs that come with operating a specialty clinic. You will work within an inter-professional team, with full access to the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system to support delivery of comprehensive patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide primary healthcare services to clients in the correctional centre
  • Work with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans for clients
  • Collaborate with community agencies to provide support for clients upon release
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of healthcare services
Requirements:
  • Eligible for provisional or full licensure with CPSBC
  • Certification with the College of Family Physicians, or equivalent, is mandatory
  • Experience in working with patients across a broad spectrum of psychiatric illness, substance use disorders, and personality difficulties
  • Experience in Correctional Health and/or additional certification or training
