Accounts Receivable Specialist

Position Overview: Under the general oversight of the Business Services Supervisor, the role involves executing cashier responsibilities for the institution. This includes processing payments received by the University and maintaining accurate records.
- Customer Interaction: Address inquiries from various University departments, employees, students, and other stakeholders regarding student accounts and billing matters. Aid in the creation and management of monthly billing statements and collection efforts.
- Reporting: Compile daily and/or monthly reports to summarize financial transactions for the designated reporting period.
- Data Entry: Utilize computer systems to input accounting data into the financial management system.
- Accounts Management: Handle accounts receivable by receiving and documenting payments. Assist in processing third-party payment transactions.
- Cash Handling: Act as a cashier by accepting payments from various University units and individuals for fees and other charges. Accurately count cash, provide change, and issue receipts. Reconcile daily cash receipts with supporting documentation. Allocate payments to the correct accounts, maintain financial records, prepare bank deposits, and manage petty cash funds.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications: High school diploma or GED, or two years of relevant office experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in administrative support roles is advantageous.
Physical Requirements: Ability to travel for meetings and training sessions. Must be self-motivated and maintain composure in various situations. Capability to sit for extended periods is necessary. Occasional extended hours may be required during peak periods.
Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
Position Type: Full Time
Vacancy Count: 1 (Part-time)
Salary Range: $35,000 - $38,000.00
