Position Overview

Aramark is seeking a dedicated Housekeeping Manager to oversee the cleaning services within a Senior Living facility. This role involves managing a team of approximately 20 unionized staff members, ensuring that operations align with Aramark's established standards to meet client expectations while adhering to budgetary constraints.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Ensure the facility's cleanliness and safety by following Aramark's standardized protocols, as well as PIDAC and OHS regulations.
  2. Supervise the cleaning of communal areas, staircases, public restrooms, living spaces, and offices to maintain daily operational standards.
  3. Implement routines and enhance processes in line with operational goals.
  4. Oversee the procurement of supplies and chemicals, managing inventory effectively.
  5. Maintain and troubleshoot cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners and floor buffers.
  6. Foster team cohesion and manage the performance of team members.
  7. Establish and nurture positive communication and collaboration among staff, management, residents, and client representatives.
  8. Prepare financial forecasts, monitor expenditures, and ensure departmental budgets are met.
  9. Perform additional duties as necessary.
Qualifications
  1. A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a similar position within a healthcare or senior living environment is essential.
  2. Proven knowledge of cleaning protocols and equipment operation is required.
  3. Strong understanding of cleaning chemical usage, WHMIS, and OHS regulations.
  4. Familiarity with PIDAC best practices for infection prevention and control is necessary.
  5. Experience managing a unionized workforce is advantageous; effective leadership skills are crucial.
  6. Ability to perform under pressure and deliver prompt, effective solutions to challenges.
  7. Strong implementation skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset are essential.
  8. Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office – Word, Excel, and Outlook Mail is required.
  9. Demonstrated integrity, patience, responsibility, work ethic, enthusiasm, and professional commitment.
  10. Covid vaccination is not mandated; willingness to receive an annual Flu Shot is expected.
  11. Successful candidates must pass a Criminal Background Check and a Vulnerable Sector Screening by local authorities.
