**About the Role**

Wood is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer - Technical Specialist to join our Mining & Minerals team at our Saskatoon office. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership in the design and operation of potash and uranium plants.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Lead the design and development of mechanical systems for potash and uranium plants
  • Provide technical guidance and support to project teams
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and standards
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments

**Requirements**

  • 15+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on potash and uranium plant design and operations
  • Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer (with APEGS in the Province of Saskatchewan)
  • Familiarity with design codes, equipment and material selection and specification development
  • Able to perform calculations for equipment design, such as for tanks, pumps, and conveyors
  • Pipe stress calculations are an asset
  • Underground operations is an asset
  • Wellfield piping design is an asset
  • Construction experience is an asset
  • Other heavy industrial, mining, or smelting experience is an asset
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently and demonstrate effective organizational skills
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada at time of application
