Job Summary

Peak Technologies is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Shipping/Receiving Associate to join our team. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for efficiently managing the movement of goods within our warehouse or distribution center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify records on outgoing shipments and ensure accuracy.
  • Prepare items for shipment, including attaching shipping labels and identifying shipping information.
  • Determine the method of shipment by utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, rates, and routes.
  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Handle returns by completing technical documentation and other required communication.
  • Keep all material handling equipment in good condition by conducting regular maintenance.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to locate missing packages, fix incorrect deliveries, and replace damaged products.
  • Prepare shipping documents and schedule freight pick-ups as required.
  • Route freight to provide the most economical transport of goods and to meet customer or other requirements.
  • Request freight quotes as necessary from established freight vendors.
  • Pick parts and products from inventory locations in specified quantities as necessary to fill orders.
  • Visually monitor inventory levels and communicate low levels to buyers, schedulers, and others as necessary.
  • Cycle count inventory according to established guidelines and assist with developing actions to correct inventory problems.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that gets along with everyone.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
Requirements
  • Operate within division or department policy guidelines using nearly independent judgment in achieving assigned objectives.
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Escalate issues discovered while performing required tasks.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • Self-starter and motivated to perform effectively during times of high demand.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs without limitations or constraints.
  • Exposure to limited amounts of noise.
Language Skills
  • Primary language used in daily operations is French. Additional primary company languages include English, Spanish, and Dutch.
  • Read and interpret documents, procedure manuals, and various correspondence from both internal and external.
  • Speak effectively, both individually and before groups of both external customers and/or various levels of employees within the organization.
