Job Summary
The Clinical Pharmacist - Oncology Specialist will play a key role in providing comprehensive cancer care to patients at BC Cancer. This position will be responsible for providing individualized drug therapy, conducting in-service education, and providing drug information to patients and healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized therapeutic plans for patients with cancer
- Provide in-service education to healthcare professionals on cancer treatment and management
- Conduct drug information sessions for patients and healthcare professionals
- Prepare and dispense medications and other pharmaceutical supplies
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure effective cancer care
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy with current registration as a Licensed Pharmacist
- Completion of a Hospital Pharmacy Residency Program
- One (1) year of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques, use of biological safety cabinets, and procedures for safe handling of cytotoxic drugs
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
