Job Summary:
- The Evening Kitchen Supervisor is tasked with overseeing all culinary operations at their designated venue, supporting the Sous Chef and Head Chef. This role empowers the individual to make impactful decisions that enhance guest satisfaction and food quality while ensuring the kitchen's profitability and cleanliness in accordance with the Head Chef's standards. Additionally, the Supervisor aids in the recruitment, training, and development of kitchen staff.
Duties:
- Key responsibilities of the Evening Kitchen Supervisor include:
- Ensuring all kitchen staff adhere to nightly protocols and complete necessary checklists and reports.
- Assisting the Head Chef with kitchen recruitment and training processes, including onboarding and ongoing development.
- Supporting the Head Chef in conducting monthly inspections to meet health and safety standards across all kitchen areas.
- Helping manage food costs by reviewing portion sizes, minimizing waste, and performing weekly inventory checks.
- Tracking quality assurance metrics and providing necessary training and improvements.
- Assisting in the management of kitchen staff schedules, overtime, and labor targets.
- Maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation in line with the organization's established recipes and specifications.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Overseeing a team of five or more culinary professionals.
Working Conditions:
- Work hours and shifts may vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The role is performed in both kitchen and office settings.
Compensation is negotiable based on experience. A minimum of three years' experience in a professional kitchen is required, along with Food Safe Level 1 certification. First Aid Level 1 is preferred but not mandatory. Proficiency in Word and Excel is essential, and knowledge of Optimum is advantageous. Attention to detail and strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
