Sun Life Canada is in search of a forward-thinking and impactful leader for the position of Senior Vice President, Operations Strategy and Transformation. This pivotal role will spearhead the transformation strategy of Sun Life's operations to enhance the client service experience and streamline service platforms.

The ideal candidate will take charge of a team dedicated to strategic planning, innovation projects, and process enhancement. They will work in collaboration with business, client experience, and technology leaders to create comprehensive roadmaps for business architecture and service capabilities, ultimately advancing the digital transformation journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Motivate and guide a team of committed members in Operations Strategy and Optimization, Service Platforms, Strategic Initiatives, Business Architecture, and Business Enablement.
  • Formulate and implement a strategic vision for modernizing and refining Sun Life's operations and client service delivery through digital transformation and innovation.
  • Offer thought leadership on emerging technologies and industry trends to shape Sun Life's digital roadmap and transformation initiatives.
  • Establish robust partnerships with business leaders, the Client Experience Office, and Digital Business & Technology Solutions collaborators.
  • Oversee resources, budgets, and capabilities across teams to facilitate Sun Life's operations transformation projects.
  • Cultivate a culture of innovation, learning, and development within the operations team.
  • Eliminate obstacles to transformation and ensure accountability and alignment throughout the organization.
  • Actively participate in defining Sun Life's digital enterprise vision and future operational models, exemplifying 'One Sun' values and behaviors.
  • Implement strategic initiatives by achieving the goals and objectives outlined in the Operations Strategic Plan.
  • Continuously evaluate opportunities and proactively identify solutions that will achieve desired outcomes with a focus on future state.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • 10+ years in senior leadership positions managing extensive, complex operations.
  • Demonstrated success in driving significant operational transformation and process enhancement.
  • Degree in a relevant field such as business, engineering, or technology.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, communication, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Experience in leading change and enhancing business performance.
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry is advantageous.
  • Bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec.
