Job Summary

The Health Sciences Centre is seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to healthcare teams, including clerical tasks and communication liaison duties.
  • Assist with patient care and comfort, as well as routine domestic tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and support.
Requirements
  • Previous related work experience is preferred.
  • High school education, Manitoba standards, is required.
  • Successful completion of a Nursing Assistant program or equivalent is required.
  • Medical terminology knowledge is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Competency in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge of Indigenous customs, traditions, and values is preferred.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new policies, procedures, and technologies.
  • Basic keyboarding skills and excellent command of the English language are required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to function effectively in a dynamic environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Position may involve physical activity such as lifting, transferring, and transporting patients and equipment.
