CancerCare Manitoba is a leading healthcare provider in the province, dedicated to delivering high-quality clinical and academic services. As a Healthcare Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting our team in achieving our vision of a world free of cancer.

About the Role:

The Healthcare Support Specialist will work closely with the Unit Manager to perform a variety of clerical tasks, including patient care and support, and maintaining the cleanliness of the clinical environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the care and comfort of patients, as well as providing administrative support to the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform clerical tasks, including data entry, filing, and record-keeping
  • Provide patient care and support, including answering phones and responding to patient inquiries
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the clinical environment, including cleaning equipment and supplies
  • Assist with administrative tasks, including preparing reports and presentations

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of a recognized Health Unit Clerk course
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
