About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Site Inspector to join our team at Arcadis, a leading global design and consultancy firm. As a Site Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of municipal infrastructure projects in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct field reviews and inspections of municipal infrastructure projects, including sewer, watermain, road, and solid waste management projects.
  • Regularly audit sites to ensure public safety and compliance with regulations.
  • Verify that contractors meet the requirements of the contract, including workmanship, materials, and tolerances.
  • Perform field testing and inspection of materials and equipment.
  • Obtain and record as-constructed information.
  • Maintain accurate records of project progress and data.
  • Review contractors' requests for payment and verify progress, quantities, and materials delivered to site.
  • Perform some drafting and design work, depending on your skills and abilities.
  • Travel to various sites in the GTA as required.

Requirements

  • Civil Engineering Technologist Diploma.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of field inspection experience.
  • Completion of the MEA/MECP Inspectors Course for the Construction of Sewers and Watermains.
  • Knowledge of standard engineering and construction principles, practices, and techniques, as well as pertinent codes, regulations, and statutes.
  • Strong technical, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Working experience with MS Office, Windows, and CADD applications is an asset.
  • Previous local experience in municipal construction is ideal.
  • Basic topographical surveying skills.
  • A valid Ontario Driver's License (G Class).
