Job Title: Site Inspector

We are seeking a highly skilled Site Inspector to join our team in the GTA. As a Site Inspector, you will be responsible for conducting field reviews and inspections of municipal infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with contract requirements and public safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular site audits to ensure public safety and compliance with contract requirements
  • Inspect and review infrastructure projects, including sewer, watermain, road, and solid waste management systems
  • Verify that contractors are meeting the requirements of the contract, including workmanship, materials, and tolerances
  • Perform field testing and inspection of materials and equipment
  • Obtain and record as-constructed information and maintain data to determine periodic progress of the work
  • Review contractor's requests for payment and ensure accuracy of quantities of work completed and materials delivered to site
  • Perform some drafting and design work, dependent on candidate's abilities
  • Must be comfortable with site travel around the GTA
Qualifications:
  • Civil Engineering Technologist Diploma
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years' field inspection experience
  • Successfully completed the MEA / MECP Inspector's Course for the Construction of Sewers and Watermains
  • Knowledge of standard engineering and construction principles, practices, and techniques, plus pertinent codes, regulations, and statutes
  • Strong technical, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Working experience with MS Office, Windows, and CADD applications an asset
  • Ideal candidate will have previous local experience in municipal construction
  • Basic topographical surveying skills
  • A vehicle and valid Ontario Driver's License – 'G' Class
