Bulk Plant Operator Job Description

Under the direction of the Station Manager, the Bulk Plant Operator plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient blending and mixing of materials, maintaining inventory levels, and supporting the operations of the station. This position is considered a safety-sensitive role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Blend and mix materials to be delivered to well sites, adhering to programmed design specifications.
  • Ensure the Bulker and other equipment are ready for deployment, performing start-up, maintenance, and regular inspections.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly Bulk Plant environment.
  • Effectively handle inventory, including chemicals, maintaining counts and supply levels, and labeling and storing additives.
  • Establish and maintain procedures to ensure high service levels and meet tight job timelines.
  • Properly dispose of used/empty containers and materials, adhering to environmental standards.
  • Communicate effectively with sales and dispatch departments.
  • Adhere to and enforce company Safety policies, ensuring compliance with HSE legislation and DOT regulations.
  • Participate in training and development activities.
Qualifications:
  • Physically capable of moving/lifting heavy objects up to 40 kg, bending, standing, and climbing repeatedly for extended periods.
  • Able to work a 24-hour on-call schedule, remaining fit for duty at all times (subject to change due to market conditions).
  • Ability to work independently and proactively without close supervision.
  • Legally eligible to work in the country the role is based out of.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in oil and gas cementing services.
  • Experience as a Bulk Plant Operator.
  • Strong mathematical skills for calculations.
  • Good computer skills and ability to keep records and build reports and procedures.
  • Able to perform regular maintenance on equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality assurance.
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, reliability, and dependability.
  • Flexible and able to adapt to change.
  • Understands the importance of safety.
  • Team player and customer service focused.
  • Demonstrated initiative and results-oriented.
Assets:
  • Training in WHMIS and TDG.
  • Understanding of cementing job design.
  • Valid class 1 (Canada) / class A CDL (U.S.) driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Possesses oil field tickets.
