Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team at the Lillooet Hospital & Health Centre. As a Medical Laboratory Technologist, you will play a vital role in providing laboratory services to inpatients and outpatients from the community and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and complex tests utilizing manual procedures and automated instruments
  • Greet patients, collect and/or receive specimens, and enter data into the Laboratory Information System (LIS)
  • Validate and report test results, maintain instruments, and prepare solutions and control agents
About the Role

This is a generalist laboratory position that offers interesting and varied work across all areas of Core Lab. You will work independently within our supportive and small team environment, providing vital laboratory services to our patients.

About the Location

The Lillooet Hospital & Health Centre is a Level 1 Community Hospital located in Lillooet in the Fraser Canyon. The hospital offers services including 24-hour emergency and laboratory. Lillooet is a beautiful community nestled between stunning mountains and the bench lands of the Fraser River.

Qualifications
  • Graduation from an approved Medical Laboratory Science Program
  • Current certification with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) and eligible for membership with the BC Society of Laboratory Sciences (BCSLS) and/or CSMLS
  • One (1) year recent related experience
