Position Overview

Accoravillage is seeking a skilled Municipal Engineering Specialist to enhance our Municipal team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Delivering engineering solutions and technical insights for municipal infrastructure projects.
  2. Executing both preliminary and comprehensive design tasks.
  3. Generating cost assessments, specifications, and contractual documentation.
  4. Assisting in the tendering process and supporting contract management teams.
  5. Coordinating various studies and evaluations.
  6. Engaging with clients, consultants, regulatory bodies, utility providers, and contractors.
  7. Collaborating with engineers, designers, and support personnel.
  8. Working alongside colleagues at all levels to ensure project milestones are met.
  9. Contributing to the training and mentorship of junior team members.
  10. Undertaking additional responsibilities pertinent to the role.
  11. Involvement in Business Development efforts.

Qualifications:

  1. Possession of an active P. Eng designation valid in Ontario.
  2. 5-10 years of experience in the design of roadways, water mains, and sewer systems.
  3. Expertise in municipal design engineering and project management for large municipal entities.
  4. Practical understanding of construction processes and feasibility.
  5. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microstation software.
  6. Familiarity with local design and construction regulations.
  7. Knowledge of permit and approval requirements.
  8. Experience with municipal and provincial roadway design standards.
  9. Advanced skills in Excel and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  10. Exceptional communication and presentation abilities in English, both written and verbal.
  11. Strong relationship-building skills with clients and team members.
  12. Adept at meeting deadlines and managing budgets effectively.
  13. Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
