LEAD PROJECT MANAGER
Spirit Employment & Training Edmonton Inc is on the lookout for a seasoned Project Manager with extensive expertise in Industrial Construction to oversee our initiatives in Saskatchewan and Alberta.

Position Overview:
The Lead Project Manager will spearhead the organization’s construction and performance contracting projects in alignment with contractual obligations. This role involves coordinating a team of professionals and skilled laborers, ensuring effective managerial oversight, delegation of responsibilities, and seamless information transfer to facilitate the project's successful execution from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure compliance with internal Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality Assurance, and Human Resource programs.
2. Maintain adherence to Employment and Payroll legislation throughout the project lifecycle.
3. Develop comprehensive project management plans tailored for Industrial construction projects within the mining and oil and gas sectors, contributing to the Early Contractor Involvement Team by providing insights on design, scheduling, cost-saving strategies, and risk mitigation.
4. Assist in the planning, initiation, and execution of work breakdown structures (WBS), work packages, and cost accounts, employing earned value methodology.
5. Compile and present project progress reports on a weekly and monthly basis.
6. Uphold all company, client, and project policies, procedures, and standards while maintaining professional communication with stakeholders, including executive-level meetings.
7. Oversee safety and quality initiatives for the project, utilizing available safety and quality control resources effectively.
8. Collaborate with the project controls team to develop, monitor, and maintain the project construction schedule, reviewing progress with project staff regularly.
9. Monitor daily Labour, Equipment, and Materials (LEMs) as applicable, ensuring effective control and oversight.
10. Consistently evaluate project metrics, costs, and budgets to ensure financial health.
11. Identify changes in project scope or conditions, securing necessary change orders for cost and time adjustments.
12. Ensure all regulatory inspections are conducted as required.
13. Prepare and expedite project deficiency lists to maintain project integrity.
14. Manage financial aspects of contracts to safeguard the company's interests.
15. Proactively address challenges and eliminate barriers between the company and contractors, subcontractors, or clients.
16. Foster trustworthy and collaborative relationships with vendors, contractors, subcontractors, clients, and contract personnel.
17. Provide coaching and mentorship to direct reports, reviewing their performance regularly.
18. Assist in contract negotiations by liaising with legal counsel or relevant parties when necessary.
19. Promote continuous improvement opportunities across all project phases, from planning to execution and closure.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering is preferred.
- Approximately 15+ years of experience as a Project Manager in General Construction and Mining.
- PMI/PMP designation is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Procore software is a plus.
- Strong understanding of construction terminology, scheduling, and planning concepts.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant computer skills.
- Work is primarily conducted in an office environment, with some travel to project sites as needed.
