About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Early Childhood Assistant to join our team at Always Home Childcare Services Inc. As an Early Childhood Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of our childcare centre and contributing to the development of our young learners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Assist in the development and implementation of child-care programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Support to Educators: Collaborate with early childhood educators to carry out programs that support the development of children.
  • Activity Leadership: Lead activities that promote learning and development, such as storytelling, teaching songs, and taking children on outings.
  • Record Keeping: Assist in maintaining accurate records of children's progress and development.
  • Creativity and Engagement: Encourage children to express their creativity through various activities, such as art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity.
  • Observations and Reporting: Submit written observations on children's progress to early childhood educators or supervisors.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Establish and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and community service providers working with children.
  • Program Planning: Assist in planning and organizing activities for school-age children in our childcare programs before and after regular school hours.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a childcare setting.
  • Language: Fluency in English.
  • Work Setting: Childcare centre.
