About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Early Childhood Assistant to join our team at Always Home Childcare Services Inc. As an Early Childhood Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of our childcare centre and contributing to the development of our young learners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Assist in the development and implementation of child-care programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Support to Educators: Collaborate with early childhood educators to carry out programs that support the growth and development of children.
  • Leadership and Activities: Lead activities that foster creativity, imagination, and learning, such as storytelling, teaching songs, and organizing crafts.
  • Record Keeping: Assist in maintaining accurate records of children's progress and development.
  • Community Engagement: Establish and maintain relationships with community service providers and co-workers to support the well-being of children.
  • Program Planning: Assist in planning and organizing activities for school-age children before and after regular school hours.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees: Participate in government or community programs that support the integration of newcomers and refugees.
  • Support for Youth Employment: Participate in initiatives that promote youth employment and development.
  • Support for Veterans: Participate in programs that support the well-being of veterans.
  • Support for Indigenous People: Participate in initiatives that promote the well-being and inclusion of Indigenous people.
  • Support for Visible Minorities: Participate in programs that promote the inclusion and well-being of visible minorities.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Work Setting: Childcare centre.
  • Work Language: English.
  • Hours: 40 hours per week.
