Position Overview

The Gelato Factory Inc. is seeking a dedicated Pastry Chef to join our culinary team. This role is essential for crafting high-quality baked goods and ensuring customer satisfaction through exceptional product quality.

Qualifications
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months in a baking or pastry role
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare dough for various baked items including pies, bread, rolls, and sweet treats, as well as batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes, following established recipes or special requests.
  • Create pastries for significant events, such as weddings and birthdays.
  • Order necessary materials, equipment, and supplies to maintain kitchen operations.
  • Bake a variety of mixed doughs and batters to perfection.
  • Train and mentor staff in food preparation, cooking techniques, and safe food handling practices.
  • Handle special orders with precision and care.
  • Decorate cakes and baked goods with frostings and embellishments.
  • Develop and manage production schedules to ensure timely output.
  • Maintain product quality to meet established standards.
  • Conduct inspections of kitchen and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and compliance.
  • Organize and oversee inventory management.
  • Supervise the sales and merchandising of baked products.
Work Environment

This is a permanent position requiring 35 to 40 hours per week. The primary language of work is English.
