Job Summary

Girls Inc. of Northern Alberta is seeking an experienced and strategic leader to serve as our Interim Executive Director - Maternity Leave Coverage. This is a temporary position that will provide critical support to our organization during a period of transition.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Management
    • Develop and implement financial plans to ensure the organization's financial stability and growth.
    • Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
    • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and laws.
  • Program Development and Delivery
    • Oversee the development and implementation of programs that align with the organization's mission and goals.
    • Ensure program quality, effectiveness, and efficiency.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, partners, and community leaders.
  • Strategic Leadership
    • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the organization.
    • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve the organization's goals and objectives.
    • Ensure effective governance and board management.
  • Human Resources Management
    • Develop and implement HR strategies to attract, retain, and develop top talent.
    • Manage employee relations, performance management, and talent development.
    • Ensure compliance with all HR regulations and laws.
  • Communications and Stakeholder Engagement
    • Develop and implement effective communication strategies to engage stakeholders, partners, and community leaders.
    • Manage media relations, crisis communications, and reputation management.
    • Ensure accurate and timely information dissemination.
  • General Administration and Risk Management
    • Ensure the organization's operations meet the expectations of its members, stakeholders, and the community.
    • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks to the organization.
    • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., business, non-profit management, public administration).
    • 5+ years of experience in executive leadership, management, or a related field.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Proven track record of strategic leadership, management, and governance.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong analytical and financial management skills.
    • Experience in program development, delivery, and evaluation.
    • Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, partners, and community leaders.
