The Opportunity

The Market Insights and Engagement (MI&E) team spearheads client exploration to enhance programs and offerings within the organization. This team emphasizes collaborations with Associations across the technologies we oversee, aiming to collectively influence behavior and elevate safety outcomes in British Columbia.

The Insights and Engagement Analyst is responsible for designing and executing product, market, and evaluation research, adhering to best practices to support the formulation, execution, and enhancement of effective provincial safety policies, regulations, products, programs, and other initiatives. This role involves working with both internal and external stakeholders to interpret, convey, and implement research findings into actionable strategies that improve compliance and safety outcomes in British Columbia.

Pay Grade: 16 ($46.27 to $53.59 per hour, 40 hours per week)
Location: Vancouver, BC or open to any of our BC regional offices
Reports to: Leader, Market Insights & Engagement

As an Insights & Engagement Analyst, your responsibilities will include:

Acting as a key advisor to organizational leaders and project managers to help them identify and articulate their needs for insight generation (including refining research questions, project scoping, and resource allocation). Designing and facilitating research and evaluation initiatives that align with decision-maker requirements and adhere to best practices in research methodologies. Assisting in the development of product segment strategies and roadmaps through research, market segmentation, and analytical insights, while supporting organizational change in alignment with these strategies. Engaging in experimental design (such as prototyping and wire-framing) to creatively explore innovative solutions that provide value to both external and internal clients. Collaborating cross-functionally on data collection, analysis, and reporting from various internal and external data sources. Skillfully interpreting data and translating research findings into actionable insights, grounded in a comprehensive understanding of the safety system, including client segments and stakeholder contexts. Presenting qualitative and quantitative data and insights in innovative and clear formats to effectively engage target audiences and enhance decision-making processes, including at senior leadership levels. Advocating for evidence-based recommendations related to product, policy, or program design and implementation with key decision-makers. Leading initiatives to centralize and enhance access to existing research and knowledge across the organization. Contributing as a subject matter expert to the development of organizational standards, guidelines, and tools pertaining to research design, data collection, analysis, and reporting. Supporting the continuous learning and development of the team and broader organization through ongoing knowledge sharing and transfer. Leading and contributing to reports, presentations, and business cases in support of departmental objectives and initiatives. Pursuing personal professional development goals.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

A post-secondary degree in psychology, marketing, product/program development, management, evaluation, or analytical marketing roles, or equivalent education and experience. At least 5 years of experience in product discovery and client engagement, including qualitative and quantitative analysis to enhance products and programs, such as:
Conducting needs assessments, process and outcome evaluations; Performing literature reviews and environmental scans; Designing and administering surveys, and analyzing survey data; Conducting and analyzing interview or focus group data; Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical capabilities and familiarity with best practices (e.g., content and framework analyses, descriptive analyses, correlational and regression analyses). Excellent skills in data visualization, knowledge translation, and both verbal and written communication. Proficient command of the English language. Good project management and organizational abilities. Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite; familiarity with CRM and other software is an asset. Proven ability to cultivate and maintain effective working relationships in stakeholder-rich environments. Adaptability, proactivity, and capability to work independently under pressure with rapidly changing priorities and deadlines. Superior interpersonal skills; ability to handle sensitive data with a high degree of tact and confidentiality. A sense of humor.
