Job Title: Marine Accounting Intern

Seaspan Marine is a leading provider of tug and barge services on Canada's West Coast. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Marine Accounting Intern to support our accounting and reporting responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with month-end entries, account reconciliations, and supervising of accounts
  • Prepare and record month-end accounting journal entries
  • Assist with the preparation of month-end reports
  • Review and analyze accounts and results
  • Calculate and record month-end revenue and cost accruals
  • Reconcile various GL accounts
  • Reconcile accounts to sub-ledgers
  • Other accounting and financial duties as required
Requirements:
  • Enrollment in 2nd or 3rd year of an undergraduate degree program in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration
  • Completion of introductory accounting classes is preferred
  • Demonstrated project and/or contract knowledge, and skills through exposure to class projects or co-op terms
  • Outstanding analytical skills to capture, analyze and process large amounts of data
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organization skills
  • Excellent knowledge of the English language, verbal and written
  • Experience and strong comfort with Microsoft Excel

We require a full-time commitment Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week with an hourly rate of $26.00/hour.
