Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our Accounting Department in Calgary. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing financial analysis and reporting, as well as supporting the Accounting Manager and Corporate Controller in their duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial analysis and reporting, including budgeting and forecasting.
- Supporting the Accounting Manager and Corporate Controller in their duties.
- Reconciling daily and monthly bank statements.
- Preparing journal entries and monthly general ledger reconciliations.
- Providing financial support to other departments.
- Reviewing accounts payable payments.
- Processing GST/HST/QST filings.
- Preparing budgets and financial reports.
- Performing other tasks as reasonably expected.
Requirements:
- CPA designation or in final stages nearing completion.
- Degree or diploma in finance or accounting.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced computer skills, including Excel and accounting software.
- 3+ years' experience in an accounting role.
- Understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong planning, organization, analysis, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Excellent negotiating skills.
