This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a smaller, collaborative multi-disciplinary team within a newly built facility. You'll be part of a close-knit group providing essential healthcare services to the community.

Description

As an Occupational Therapist II, you will play a vital role in coordinating occupational therapy and allied health services within your assigned program or service area. You'll provide expert clinical care, supervision to students and team members, and leadership to other healthcare professionals.

Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Providing comprehensive assessments, interventions, discharge planning, and follow-up care for patients/families.
  • Making informed clinical decisions on complex cases and guiding team members in providing safe, effective client care.
  • Ensuring occupational therapy practices align with Alberta legislation, professional standards, ethical guidelines, and AHS policies.
  • Coordinating day-to-day operations of your assigned service area, monitoring care delivery, identifying service needs, and assisting medical staff with caseload management.
  • Participating in program development, operational planning, and representing the department on committees or programs.
  • Collaborating with managers and healthcare providers to determine staffing levels, workflow, and caseload priorities.

You may also be involved in direct clinical service provision, consultation, education, and advocacy within your program or service area.

Required Qualifications

Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program and related experience. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).
