Unit Manager

A challenging and rewarding leadership role exists at the Leduc Community Hospital for the position of Manager - Emergency Department, IV Therapy, and Respiratory. Reporting to the Site Director, the Manager is a key leadership position responsible for direction, team leadership, and organization over the activities of the departments while supporting the vision, mission, and business plan of Alberta Health Services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Emergency Department, IV Therapy, and Respiratory teams.
- Develop and implement plans to improve patient care and safety.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve departmental goals.
- Lead and manage teams to achieve high-quality patient care and outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing with a minimum of 5 years of acute care clinical experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in a leadership role.
- Strong management and leadership skills.
- Advanced decision-making, negotiation, communication, and conflict management skills.
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to respond to short timelines.
- Proven current clinical nursing skills in selected areas of practice and a solid understanding of quality and patient safety.
- Proven ability to develop and lead teams.
- A strong track record in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated advocacy for patient and family-centered care.
- Experience in an Emergency Department setting is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Connect Care experience.
- 1-3 years of supervisory experience.
