We are seeking a qualified individual to instruct in the Health Care Assistant Certificate program at North Island College's Port Alberni campus.
Key Responsibilities- Teach practice courses to a Health Care Assistant cohort, including HCA 140: Practice Experience 1, HCA 145: Practice Experience 2, and HCA 150: Practice Experience 3.
- Implement creative strategies in the preparation and delivery of practice activities.
- Use initiative in providing documentation and follow-up with regard to student concerns and problem resolution.
- Bring facilitation skills to the management of conflict.
- Practical Nursing credential or BSN degree.
- Two years' experience teaching adults, preferably at the post-secondary level.
- Work experience in gerontics.
- Extensive experience working with Older Adults.
- Current registration with BCCNM (inclusive of Criminal Record).
- CPR Level HCP required.
- Provincial Instructor diploma.
- Experience with Indigenous pedagogies and culture.
- Experience using a variety of creative and motivating approaches to stimulate learning within a distributed teaching-learning environment and classroom.
The successful candidate will be required to travel to various practice settings within Port Alberni and may require access to a reliable vehicle.
