Hospitalist Medicine Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Hospitalist Medicine Specialist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the delivery of exceptional healthcare services.
Responsibilities- Provide Direct Patient Care: You will be responsible for providing direct patient care to patients admitted to the hospitalist service, including assessing patient needs, developing and implementing care plans, and evaluating patient outcomes.
- Coordinate Care: You will work collaboratively with members of the interprofessional team to coordinate care and ensure that patients receive comprehensive and high-quality care.
- Ensure Quality Care: You will be responsible for ensuring that patients receive quality care, including ensuring that laboratory, imaging, and other reports are received and reviewed in a timely manner.
- Participate in Quality Improvement: You will participate in systemic quality process evaluation and improvement, including patient safety and practice audit.
- Eligibility for Licensure: You must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
- Specialist Certification: You must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC).
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA): You must be a member of the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).
