Job Summary

As part of the Group Risk Management team, the Associate Director, Regulatory Governance & Issues Management will act as a central point to achieve common outputs for ORSS and GRM OR driven by work orders. The ideal candidate will develop forward-looking plans to manage annual and ad hoc regulatory and/or agency requests for which GRM OR is accountable, including identification of stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Regulatory Process Execution
    • Project manage regulatory requests through the development of forward-looking plans to manage annual and ad hoc regulatory and/or agency requests for which GRM OR is accountable, including identification of stakeholders.
    • Coordinate responses across ERR and business/functions.
    • Create, coordinate, and maintain documentation ensuring appropriate documentation is provided to satisfy regulatory requests.
    • Ensure consistency in response and messaging, including validation with management.
    • Work with and oversee the PM (as required) on the post-exam process to ensure execution of action plans to remediate MRA/issues.
    • Responsible to ensure appropriate engagement of appropriate stakeholders and owners to fully remediate MRAs/issues.
  • Reporting and Other Activities
    • Support internal processes as necessary, including the production of the team's reports.
    • Support the execution of short and long-range projects affecting GRM OR or individual teams.
  • Relationship Management
    • Develop relationships and networks within GRM OR and RBC to influence and impact processes to the benefit of RBC.
    • Act as the first point of contact as required, liaising and coordinating with other GRM OR groups as appropriate.
Requirements
  • Business (B. Comm, MBA, CFA)
  • Project management experience
  • Experience working in a technology function
  • Maturity level and skill/judgment to be able to deal effectively with senior levels within RBC, operational risk groups throughout the organization
  • Excellent presentation and communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Good impact and influence skills
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical (including qualitative analysis), research, and quantitative skills
  • Strong research skills
  • Ability to assimilate and interpret information covering a wide range of differing business areas
