Job Opportunity

The University of British Columbia is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the position of Assistant Professor (Tenure-Track) in the School of Social Work at the Okanagan campus.

About the Position

This is a full-time, tenure-track position with a start date of January 1, 2025, although the actual start date is negotiable.

Responsibilities
  • Teach in a clinical graduate social work program, with a focus on clinical social work practice.
  • Conduct research and publish in reputable academic journals.
  • Develop and maintain research partnerships.
  • Provide service to the University and the broader academic and professional community.
Requirements
  • PhD in Social Work or a related field.
  • Established track record of post-secondary teaching, research, and service.
  • Knowledge of and experience in clinical social work practice.
  • Proven record of research funding.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience conducting research and using pedagogical methods that enable students across diverse racial, ethnic, sexual, and gender identities, as well as those from diverse socio-economic groups and people with disabilities, to reach their maximum potential.
  • Familiarity with and experience in teaching in a welcoming environment.
What We Offer

The University of British Columbia offers a competitive salary range of $105,000 to $120,000 per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
