Position Overview:

The Residential Financial Analyst role is an integral part of QuadReal's corporate finance team, located in Toronto, ON. This position requires a proactive and energetic individual with strong problem-solving skills, particularly in Excel and other financial software.

The Financial Analyst will collaborate closely with the Finance Manager to ensure seamless transaction processing within the Residential Team, manage finance data integrations, execute data modeling, reconcile diverse data points across various systems, generate reports for both internal and external stakeholders, and assist in the budgeting and forecasting processes. Depending on the candidate's experience and expertise, this role may be positioned at a senior level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the accounting team to complete month-end tasks, including the preparation of tax refund reports, quarterly reconciliations, and monthly property management fee payments.
  • Oversee the Residential Workday processes, including credit card transactions, expense report entries, and reconciliation of outstanding items.
  • Work alongside third-party property management teams to ensure the accuracy and consistency of Yardi trial balances.
  • Maintain and track documentation for sold properties, including trial balances and working papers.
  • Assist the controller in developing forecasting and budgeting templates, providing support to operational and accounting teams during these processes.
  • Manage finance templates and data entry to support deliverables such as mortgages, budgeting, cash flow reports, and above guideline increases.
  • Ensure the distribution of up-to-date standard reports while creating custom reports and dashboards tailored to business needs.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Progress towards an MBA, CFA, CPA, or other relevant professional designations is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in technology within a finance context, particularly with accounting/financial systems, ERP, analytical tools, Power BI, and MS Office applications. Previous experience with Yardi is a plus.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in FP&A, Data Analytics, Corporate Finance, or Operational Accounting is preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while adapting to changing circumstances, demonstrating self-motivation and flexibility.
  • Quick to grasp new concepts and adapt processes to meet evolving business needs.
  • Capable of working independently while also collaborating effectively with team members to achieve daily objectives.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical audiences.
